Bronze casts purchased for the art collections of both the Irish Rugby Football Union and the
International Rugby Board for their Dublin Head Quarters.
Irish rugby legend. Represented Ulster, Ireland and the British and Irish Lions as player, coach and manager during a career spanning three decades. Syd played as highly technical prop forward who could play on either side of the scrum, winning 37 caps for Ireland and nine for the British and Irish Lions. Former Chairman of the International Rugby Board and the 2007 Rugby World Cup in France. Awarded the Légion d’honneur in 2007; the ribbon on Syd’s lapel is worn in place of the more formal medal.
