commemorate the 100th birthday of the late Dr. Brendan O’Regan.
Among his many achievements Dr. O’Regan invented the concept of Duty Free shopping, he developed Shannon Airport, was Chairman of Bord Fáilte, and was one of Ireland’s most noted peace ambassadors, setting up Co-Operation North. In a tribute to him, President Mary McAleese said he was “a true visionary” and “leaves a legacy that permeates throughout all levels of economic, social and cultural life in Ireland.”
